Pickleball Health Rx is a prevention, treatment and rehabilitation service meant to keep athletes on the court and off the couch. Here at Pickleball Health Rx, we have developed proven and effective treatment protocols related but not limited to Pickleball injuries. With pickleball being one of the fastest growing sports in America with a low barrier of entry, injury has unfortunately followed suit. Pickleball Health Rx is an all-inclusive practice that will not only diagnose, assess and treat an injury; but more importantly help prevent one from happening.
Meet the Team

Dr. Drew Stein, MD
Orthopedic Surgeon & Sports Medicine Specialist
Drew A. Stein, MD, treats all types of orthopedic injuries with a specialty in sports medicine, at his practice in Boca Raton, Florida . Sports medicine injuries include shoulder dislocations, shoulder separations, shoulder instability, shoulder rotator cuff tears, shoulder biceps injuries, shoulder labral injuries, elbow biceps, and triceps injuries, knee ligament or cartilage tears, knee osteochondral defects, ankle ligament, and tendon injuries.

Dr. Brooke VanderZyl, DPT
Physical Therapist
Brooke VanderZyl, DPT graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2010 with a degree in Athletic
Training. While working to attain her ATC degree, she worked with collegiate sports teams at UCF
including the football, basketball and competitive cheerleading teams. This degree helped her build a
foundation of hard work and caring for all individuals. Brooke was required to work many hours to
accommodate the needs of her athlete’s and patient’s which helped shaped her desire to administer the
highest quality of care to them.
After graduating, Brooke pursued her Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern
University in Plantation, FL. As part of her degree, she was able to intern in a variety of settings, most of
which were in privately owned outpatient clinics. Her experiences through these facilities helped her
establish Beyond Basics Physical Therapy, LLC.
Throughout her career, she has made it her goal to get individuals to quickly return to their sport as
safely and injury free as possible. Brooke strives to facilitate a high-quality treatment for a population
with an active life-style.
Brooke furthered her Doctoral education by becoming a Certified Titleist Pro Instructor for golf
education and rehabilitation. She is also a Certified Graston Technique specialist who provides advanced
manual interventions to qualified patients along with therapeutic Cupping and Dry Needling. She is also
continuing her pursuit of becoming a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist via the Maitland Manual
Certification program.

Dr. Brent VanderZyl, DPT
Physical Therapist
Brent graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2009 with a degree in Athletic Training. While working to attain his ATC degree, he worked with collegiate sports teams at UCF including baseball, tennis, crew and football. His senior year in the program was spent working spring football, summer camps, practices and games with the UCF football team. This degree opened other opportunities for him
such as interning with the New York Jets football team, being a medical volunteer for an action sports tour and becoming the head athletic trainer for a soccer tournament organization. Brent’s success in this profession was shaped by his hard working nature and strong will to put in long hours to meet the needs of collegiate and professional athletes.
After graduating, he pursued his Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy at the University of North Florida and graduated in the Spring of 2013.
Through the years, Brent has worked to further his education and knowledge of various physical therapy treatments and techniques. He has taken the basic and advanced courses of the Maitland Manual Technique-Spine and peripheral extremity, the Maitland Technique-Mobilization and Stabilization Training, Kinesio Taping Technique Certification and LSVT Big Treatment for Parkinson’s Disease. Brent has also become certified in Graston Technique as well as Dry Needling.
